Trainer Gretchen Clark
    Owner and trainer Gretchen Clark has been a professional trainer for more than 40 years, beginning her career in 1970. Gretchen specializes in training Hunter-Jumpers and expert care of horses. 
    She has competed in national and world horse riding events, and holds numerous awards, including National and World Appaloosa titles for riding. She was named Trainer of the Year by the CAL Western Appaloosa Association and was winner of the San Fernando Valley Horse Show Association Trainer's Award. 
    She also has trained champion Hunter, Jumper, and Equitation  riders on the "A" and "B" circuits.  In addition, she has trained many year-end champions for both LAHSA, PCHA and SFVHSA.
    Her vast professional horse training experience also includes current board member of IEHJA, where she has been instrumental in the development of the Association. She is also a member of the USEF, PCHA, and IEHJA, as well as life members of LAHSA and SFVHSA, and former board members for LAHSA and the PCHA. She is past-president of the CAL Western Appaloosa Association.

Lessons and Rider in Training Programs
Our instructors teach horsemanship in a fun
and safe manner. Our program provides expert instruction on well-trained school horses for children and adults at all levels of riding. We offer group, semi-private, and private lessons in English hunt seat, hunter/jumper, and western styles of riding. For students who are interested in competing in horse shows, we offer a lease program in which you can compete and travel to horse shows without owning a horse.

Rider in Training
 
    This program is for the serious rider who wishes to advance his or her riding skills more rapidly. A month-to-month program, Rider in Training is for the non-horse owner and includes 2 group lessons and 1 practice lesson a week. Lesson and practice rides ar enot accumulated month. Participation requires trainer approval. A $430 value, the monthly cost is $300.
Leasing Horses 
    Leasing and half leases are available on monthly basis. Leasing a horse allows the rider to experience the pleasure of owning a horse without the initial purchase price. Participation requires trainer approval. A full lease is 6-days and a half-lease is 3 days a week. The monthly fee depends on the horse lease.

Showcase Summer Camps
    Showcase offers summer camps two to three times during the summer for children and young adults ages 8-16. The week-long program provides
each rider with a horse for that week to take care of as if it were their own. Students learn to ride either English or western and bareback.     
    They also take trail rides and participate in games on horses. Students also learn how to groom a horse, the anatomy of the horse, and general horsemanship. They also teach health care and tack cleaning for English and western.
    Camps are designed for all levels of riders, from beginners to advanced. 
    Each session is five days a week, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dates for camps are announced each year at the start of summer. Each week-long session is $300, and family discounts are provided. 


Working Student Program
    If the economy has you down but you want to be a involved with horses, consider the Working Student Program, whether you are an adult or child. This program offers students an opportunity to work on the ranch with the horses in exchange for practice rides and/or lessons. 
    Students for this program must be approved by the trainer. Candidates for this program must love horses, want to increase their knowledge of horses, and must want to advance in their riding skills. 
    Work for this program includes grooming, lunging, and cleaning tack and equipment for the school horses. All work is supervised so that the students learn by practical application.
